Lady Gaga has designed a "Japan Prayer Bracelet" with all proceeds going to tsunami relief efforts in Japan. So far Gaga has reported on Twitter that her monsters have raised more than $250,000 in just 48 hours since posting the original link. She posted the announcement on Twitter on March 11 and provided a link to the item on her web store. The white wristband features the phrase "We Pray for Japan" written in both Japanese and English. Each bracelet costs $5, but fans can make additional donations of up to $100.

"Monsters: in just 48 hrs you've raised a quarter of a million dollars for Japan Relief," Gaga wrote on Twitter. "It's important we help. X"

The two-time Grammy winner, songwriter, musician, and fashion artist is known to throw the weight of her popularity behind donation projects. Gaga partnered with Virgin Mobile on her Monster Ball national tour offering premium VIP tickets to fans who volunteered their time to homeless youth organizations, which raised more than $80,000 in proceeds to support homeless youth, and generated 30,000 hours of community service for hundreds of charities across the country.
