Guess it was inevitable. The popular buzz acronyms LOL and OMG just made it to the Oxford English Dictionary! OMG -- an abbreviation for "oh my God" -- and LOL -- short for "laugh out loud" -- have long been used by the younger generation in text messages and online social networking sites. The expressions were selected for publication in the Oxford English Dictionary Online Edition along with other popular acronyms IMHO (in my humble opinion), TMI (too much information) and BFF (best friends forever). One other actual word making the cut was "Muffin Top," which describes the bulge of fat above the waistband of a tight pair of pants. (AHN News)
