Paul Reubens appeared in character as Pee-wee Herman at Comic Con yesterday and confirmed he's working on a new movie with his character that Judd Apatow’s production company will produce for Universal Pictures.
Reubens reportedly wrote the script with Apatow’s collaborator Paul Rust and received notes from Apatow during their writing. He wouldn't confirm though if Apatow will direct the project.
The film is said to be road movie that will be "in the mold" of "Pee-wee’s Big Adventure", but right now they're waiting on the green light with the script currently sitting on the desk of studio executives.
